The Downingtown and Exton area are about 30 miles West of Philadelpia and I made a trip to a Phillies game last week. It takes about 45 minutes to get to Citizen Bank Park from here by car, but you can also take the train from Downingtown to Center City Philadelphia and then the subway right to the park. Chester County also is covenient for getting to Wilmington, Delaware and down to the Delaware/Maryland shore. Favorite spots are Rehoboth Beach in Delaware and Ocean City, Maryland. Both areas have some great golf courses if you don't want to go to the beach.
