The Senate has passed a bill extending the $8,000 tax credit for first time home buyers to next June. Buyers need to be under agreement by April 30th and go to settlement by June 30th. There is also consideration for a $6,500 tax credit for any current home owner who has owned their home for at least 5 years. The legislation still needs to pass in the House.
