There is talk that there will be some changes, possibly elimination. of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac within 3 years. This could, according to some, mean the end of the fixed rate mortgage in favor of adjustable mortgages. It is something to keep your eye on because it will affect how you will buy your next home.

There is a large inventory of homes for sale in the Downingtown and Exton areas of Chester County. Prices have stabilized but with the uncertainty in the economy, there are not a lot of buyers out looking. This may change if Congress passes an extension of the first time buyer tax credit, especially if it includes a credit for current home owners.
